WaterWagon (2022-2023 Hackathon)

WaterWagon is a solar-powered, app-controlled IoT device designed to extract, filter, and transport water to remote villages in Africa. Developed in just seven hours during the 2023 Innovation Africa Hackathon, we were tasked with helping rural farms in Africa, situated in unpredictable terrains, collect and transport water, food, and other essentials. This project combines environmental sustainability with autonomous navigation. Equipped with a moisture sensor and programmable route capability, WaterWagon can identify optimal water sources, collect water, and deliver it where needed, even across unpredictable terrain. Designed for Innovation Africa, this compact system represents a practical, tech-driven solution to real-world water accessibility challenges.
